Roll the Dice is located at 215 Robert Rose Drive, behind Stones River Mall in Murfreesboro.  They can be reached at 615-818-4219 or online at www.RolltheDiceGames.com

This week's featured piece is going to be brief as HobNobMurfreesboro is getting ready for the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway.  Roll the Dice has been Murfreesboro's best kept secret for awhile now.  A store that specializes in board games, Roll the Dice offers a unique environment to learn about, sample, and buy new and old games.  it's the perfect option for the family that wants to spend time together and grow as a family.

Adam Kinder of Affordable Water, the lovely Lora and a few other friends met up at Roll the Dice one Saturday morning to try the highly recommended Dominion, a tried and true deck building game.  Having never played a deck building game (think Magic, Gathering and Pokemon) I was naturally a little hesitant.  These games have a sort of stigma about them.

Owner David Sieber got everything ready for us and patiently explained the rules while we took it all in.  Basically, this equals that you can only play this card when you already have that card down.  Make sense?  Good!

Once we started playing, David continued to take time to stay with us and make sure we really understood the game before he went back to attending the store.  We had a blast.  It was time without electronics, without distraction and just friends hanging out enjoying ourselves.  By the time we finished playing, we were all astonished to see that two hours had passed and we had all had a lot of fun.

Dominion is one of the oldest deck building games and you can get a starter pack from Roll the Dice for $45.  It makes a great Christmas present for a friend or child that is perhaps looking for a new hobby.  2-6 can play at a time and if you just happen to fall in love, there are more expansions than you can shake a fist at.

If you aren't convinced yet, I encourage you to just go down to Roll the Dice yourself and take a look around.  Mr Sieber would happily walk you through the game or anything else he has on the shelves.  Have a favorite video game?  The staff will check around to see if that same company has made a corresponding board game to match.  Looking for a game someone told you about?  Roll the Dice will find it for you, even if they have to order it.  So get some friends together, get your family in the car and go down to Roll the Dice and find the perfect Christmas gift for someone or just splurge for yourself.  I guarantee you will be surprised at how much fun you have.  Enjoy!

I will never think of fresh summer lemonade the same again! Why, you ask? Because today I received the most uniquely quenching Lemon Aid treatment- on my hair. And no, that’s not a typo! Lemon Aid is just 1 of 12 options on Paul Mitchell’s Wash House menu. From “Hey Sugar Sugar”, a low-calorie hair treat, to “De-Tox”, a serious cleanse using shampoos #2 and #3, the Wash House menu boasts spa-like hair treatments for your locks in all walks of life. And Emily Robertson’s Lox Salon is just the place to treat yourself to this experience!

So we started the adventure shampooing with #3, the detox and cleansing formula. While the shampoo was in, I smelled the refreshing aroma and feeling of 2 brisk lemons being squeezed over my hair from root to tip. My hair was rinsed with Perrier sparkling water, followed by the hair-repair treatment, a deep conditioner with sunflower extract. And yes, the Perrier tingled!

I have long curly hair, and it’s at its frizziest during the hot humid summer weather, with or without product. After the Lemon Aid treatment, my curls naturally separated upon drying- a huge accomplishment given our recent weather. The icing on the “lemon” cake was the relaxing head massage, thus proving to be the most exuberating hair wash I’ve ever had! The Lemon Aid treatment cooled me down while taming my wild tresses- score and score. Will I be back? Of course! With a selection of tasty hair treats like this, you can’t just try one thing on the menu!
