Additions include first Tennessee location for new home decorating retailer Parmida Home and new location for hometown favorite, Chef Raymond’s Diner

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee – Sept. 24, 2010. When it comes to shopping excitement, there’s always something new at Stones River Mall. Since the renovation and addition of the mall’s new lifestyle center, new retailers have opened and favorites have remodeled and expanded. And now, Stones River Mall announces that there will be further additions coming soon, including the first Tennessee location – and the third nationally – for Parmida Home, a new concept in home decorating.

With an opening planned for early 2011, Parmida Home will bring a new home furnishings and decorating concept to the Murfreesboro area. The store’s new location near A’Gaci and Bobby McKee’s Irish Pub will encompass 9,375 square feet of space and will feature collections of home furnishings, accessories, gourmet foods and more, all at affordable prices.

Dining room furniture will be set up in decorated vignettes, complete with matching accessories from placemats to centerpieces. Many of the furniture brands are unique to Parmida and offered only by two other retailers in the United States. Other products that the retailer will offer include statues, fountains, Oriental rugs, outdoor and larger furniture pieces. Also, there will be gourmet foods and seasonings, coffees and teas, candles, bath accessories, body products, gift items and more.

With 15,000 square feet, the new Halloween Express is largest in the Murfreesboro area, offering a complete selection of costumes, costume accessories, props and decorations. The retailer, whose slogan is Be Anything You Want To Be, has outfits and gear for infants, toddlers, kids, teens, tweens, as well as adult men and women, including costumes from the latest television shows and movies. The new store has an outside entrance on the south side [Old Fort Parkway] of Stones River Mall.

Stones River Mall is one of a limited number of shopping centers in the United States to be chosen as a location by Toys R Us for one of its new concept Express ‘pop-up’ stores. The Toys R Us Express, located next to Sears, opened in September and offers a new level of one-stop convenience for shoppers at the mall. The store encompasses 4,000 square feet and carries the season’s favorite toys, plus an extensive selection of traditional favorites.

Plugging electronics into the mall’s mix, Tennessee-owned and operated Electronic Express is under construction with an anticipated opening date in time for the holidays. The popular electronics store, known for top-quality and name brand electronics at low prices, is relocating from its current location in Murfreesboro to a 26,000 square-foot space near the shopping center’s south side entrance off Old Fort Parkway. The new store will house thousands of in-stock models of electronics and appliances in a wide variety of categories, including HDTV, home audio and video, cameras, camcorders, car audio, computers and accessories.

Adding comfort food and gourmet flavors to the shopping center, Stones River Mall is pleased to announced that local chef Raymond Daugherty will be launching his new restaurant, Chef Raymond’s Diner, at the shopping center this fall. The menu features something to please most everyone, including daily home-cooked plate lunches, Chef’s Special gourmet entrees, gourmet sandwiches, wings in a variety of different flavors, burgers and more.

Of special note at the new diner will be a banana split in two sizes: the Ultimate Fat Chef, which Chef Raymond promises will be one the biggest ever, and the Skinny Chef, which is sure to please those who enjoy dessert but who are watching their waistlines. Chef Raymond’s Diner will be located near the north entrance between JCPenney and Dillard’s.

‘We are so pleased to be able to announce these newcomers to Stones River Mall. It is always our goal to provide visitors with a shopping environment that’s friendly, welcoming and filled with retailers that offer most everything a shopper is looking for,’ says Heather Rose, marketing manager for the shopping center.

Pale, monochromatic makeup in shades of beige-rose was all the rage, and after some investigating, it looks like Michelle Williams wore this exact look this past weekend at the Berlin Film Festival.

In nearly every store you visit, upon checkout the cashier asks if you would like to be on their email list to receive special offers. I am not one to give my email address out casually, but there are multiple occasions where it has saved me money.

I am a creature of habit, and if you are like me you have your favorite stores too. I saw this week’s piece in Ann Taylor Loft a few weeks ago, but with snow still on the ground I refused to pay full price for shorts. I kept checking back, but with every visit the shorts were still priced at $39.50. I had pretty much given up on them until I got an email saying they were half off for the weekend. I went and bought them that day.

Although it might be a few more weeks before I can wear them, I am super excited about these printed shorts. I usually avoid wearing shorts at all, seeing as you typically get two options- up to the cheek or down to the knee- and neither are flattering. These are the perfect length, and I can’t wait to sport them with a tee shirt or button down.

While junk mail can quickly fill your inbox, it’s a good idea to register online with stores you frequently shop at. You can save money without having to clip coupons!

Weekly specials are a great way to find deals in some of your favorite stores without having to search through clearance racks. You can get the season’s finest and avoid the guilt of paying full price. Many stores list their weekly specials on their websites for convenience.

It’s a nice surprise to walk in to a store and find that sweaters are half price that week. This week I found a great deal on casual khakis at Gap. Regularly $49.50-$54.50, I picked up this pair for $25.

What’s great about these pants is their versatility. Offered in a variety of colors, one can wear these rolled up with heels for a hip weekend look or straight with flats for the office. The slim cut is flattering for every figure.

I always keep an eye out for pieces that transition throughout the seasons. I usually am not a fan of khakis, but I can’t wait to wear these with some cute sandals. Gap is always one of my favorite stores to hit up because of their simplicity. It’s not about the flash and glam, it’s all about quality clothing and great fits.
