Murfreesboro, TN - The Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp (SGRRC), a music day camp for girls ages 10-17, is launching a fundraising contest through the online fundraising site Go Fund Me in order to cover an increased scholarship demand.  SGRRC has turned to the community to ask for help raising funds for the Adopt-a-Camper Scholarship Program and they are offering a brand new 16GB iPAD2 to the person who raises the most money.  The contest ends Friday, July 29, 2011 and the winner will be announced at the annual SGRRC Saturday Showcase at Siegel High School.

SGRRC offers an unlimited number of need-based scholarships, and due to the recent economic downturn, SGRRC has seen a large increase in scholarship requests.  SGRRC has made a commitment to not turn away a single camper in need and has launched the iPad Fundraising Contest in order to help meet the increased scholarship demand.

SGGRC will take place at Middle Tennessee State University this year from July 25-30. The mission of SGRRC is to support a culture of positive self-esteem and collaboration among girls while building community through music. During one week of the summer, 90 young women attend instrument instruction, participate in workshops such as Screenprinting, Music HERstory, and Recording, as well as attend daily live performances from a local, professional bands. Campers also form their own bands, with whom they practice every afternoon of camp in preparation for the Saturday Night Showcase.

· Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp

Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp (SGRRC) is YEAH!’s flagship camp celebrating its 9^th year this summer. It takes place in the Wright Music Building at Middle Tennessee State University, and is an all-girl camp. YEAH! traditionally serves approximately 90 campers in this camp, and boast almost as many volunteers from the local music and arts community. Camp is scheduled for the week of July 25-30.
