Generations Offers More Than Just Home Care
“When you work in the home care business, you have to want to do more than prepare meals and change sheets…you really have to care,” said Jennifer Dye, Director of Generations Home Care.
Generations Home Care is a personable home care service that provides seniors the freedom and opportunity of living in their homes with the advantages of assisted living. Flexibility provides services to clients as little as 1 hour a week or as much as 24 hours a day, depending on their particular needs.
Jennifer employees 15 caregivers and prides Generations on being able to best match each employee with the right client. Generations Home Care charges clients two different hourly flat rates according to the services provided. For $14 an hour, clients receive “companion care” which includes services such as light housekeeping, companionship, meal prep and transportation. At $15 an hour, clients receive “personal care” which includes services such as bathing, clothing and walking assistance.
The personal approach taken by Generations Home Care is exemplified through the attention and dedication each caregiver gives their patients. As opposed to similar companies where only 2 visits a year are required by supervisors, Jennifer checks in on her clients and caregivers at least every 90 days and sometimes as often as once a week.
“Since acquiring services from Generations Home Care, my mother and I feel that their rates have been fair and Jennifer has revealed nothing but honest and trustworthy character through her actions,” explained client Phyllis Faircloth. “Although my mother is no longer a client upon moving into an assisted living facility, Jennifer still makes time to visit on a regular basis. She has helped my entire family with this difficult transition.”
With over five years of experience in the industry, Jennifer has learned what works best when it comes to senior care. She knew she wanted to do some things differently than a corporate office, but understood the importance of helping people live in their homes longer. After over a year of researching and planning, Generations Home Care opened their doors on August 3rd, 2009.
“I enjoy being involved with day to day aspects of the business as well as establishing strong relationships with both clients and caregivers,” commented Jennifer.
Generations Home Care does not limit their services to strictly seniors. Caregivers are happy to help anyone in need of service including children with disabilities, people undergoing physical rehabilitation and patients of Veteran Affairs. Generations also accepts long-term care insurance.
“I founded this company on Christian principles which means helping those that can’t always help themselves,” explained Jennifer. “I really have to give God the glory since he is the One who opened the doors and provided me with this amazing opportunity.”
