Meet the Local Amy Simick

“I just want to make everyone feel at home,” said this week’s local with a genuine smile. Amy Simick has opened a second location of her home boutique, Harmony Home, behind Demos’ on Broad Street.

After 10 years in Franklin, Amy decided to finally open a location in Murfreesboro due to her demanding clientele. This unique store has a variety of décor, gifts and furniture at extremely affordable rates. “We have something for everyone, and if not we will find it for you,” explained Amy.

This pet lover has something a little different about how she runs her store. Harmony Home is pet friendly, as long as your pet can get along with Lacy the shop cat. Amy met the flood rescue feline when her friend brought her by the store. They instantly clicked. On Lacy’s first night in the shop, she found a comfy spot and had four kittens! (Don’t worry, it was in a box)

“I knew she was pregnant,” explained Amy, “but how could anyone turn away this precious cat?”

Animals have a reoccurring theme in Harmony Home, with an adorable pet section unlike any other found in Murfreesboro. With unique collars and art, Amy tries to get new merchandise all the time, so check back often for your furry friend.

Between her thriving business and two children, Amy rarely has time to breathe, let alone have hobbies. A self proclaimed homebody, she does love to hike, sew, garden, cook and read. “I just started reading Kathryn Stockett’s ‘The Help’ and I highly recommend it.”

“I love Murfreesboro so far,” said Amy about her move. “Everyone has been more than welcoming, and I can’t wait to get to know this community.”
