Baseball set to open spring practice
Blue Raiders to take the field for first official practice on Friday
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee baseball team will officially begin spring practice on Friday as the Blue Raiders prepare to open their 96th season and 25th under the direction of head coach Steve Peterson.
Weather permitting, Friday's practice will be held at Reese Smith Jr. Field, with a scrimmage scheduled for 3 p.m., marking the first of many opportunities to see the Blue Raiders this spring.
Middle Tennessee will open the 2012 season with a trio of home games against Kansas, Saint Louis and Evansville, with play slated to begin on February 17. The Blue Raiders start off with 11 straight games within the state of Tennessee and 18 of the first 23 taking place in Murfreesboro.
In addition to the beginning of practice this weekend, the Middle Tennessee baseball team will host the 39th annual Groundhog Day Luncheon next Thursday in the Murphy Center. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Reservations can be made by calling the Blue Raider ticket office at 1-888-YES-MTSU or the BRAA office at (615) 898-2210.
Season and single game tickets are also now on sale through the ticket office at Floyd Stadium. Ticket prices are as follows:
Season Tickets
- Family Bleacher Pass: $60 (up to four people for each game)
- Single Bleacher Pass: $45
- Chairback seats: $45 plus donation requirement (contact the BRAA at 615-898-2210)
Single Game Tickets
- Individual (excluding Vanderbilt and Tennessee): $6
- Vanderbilt/Tennessee: $8
